The whole village is built on a hill above the coast. Houses built of stone with excellent architecture that spread throughout the settlement.

The story of Afitos dates back to 3000 BC. It was one of the most important states of Pallini and is mentioned by renowned ancient writers such as Aristotle, Herodotus, Thucydides etc.

He also gave a dynamic presence to the revolution of 1821. In the second half of the 19th century, it developed a particular architectural style, which is still preserved in the houses of the village.

The paved alleys of Afitos in summer are crowded by tourists.

On the sandy beach you can enjoy your swim and not only, as it has many beach bars offering sun loungers and umbrellas. Also nearby are the excellent beaches of Sani and Nea Fokaia.

Τhere are many options of accommodation in Afitos. You can stay in luxury hotels, or rooms to let and enjoy your meal in one of the many restaurants and taverns. As for nightlife a good choice is the settlement of Kallithea which is only 3km away.
